Ginger, Honey and Soy Glazed Spareribs

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 5 cm piece of ginger, grated
  • 45 ml canola oil
  • 15 ml sesame oil
  • 60 ml SAFARI Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with Honey and Ginger
  • 60 ml Goldcrest Lemon and Ginger Infused Pure Honey
  • 60 ml soy sauce
  • 2 spring onions, chopped
  • 1 kg pork spareribs*

*Beef ribs may be used instead of pork ribs.

To serve:

  • SAFARI Cape Apple, Jalapeno or Sweet Pepper Balsamic Glaze
  • Coriander
  • Lime wedges
  • Sesame seeds
  • Spring onions

Method:

  1. Mix the garlic, ginger, oils, apple cider vinegar, honey, soy sauce and spring onions together.
  2. Place the spareribs in a zip-lock plastic bag.
  3. Add the vinegar mixture. Seal the bag and massage the sauce into the ribs.
  4. Place in a flat dish and refrigerate. Turn every 2 – 3 hours. Marinade for at least 24 hours.
  5. Braai over hot coals or grill until golden in the oven.
  6. Drizzle with balsamic glaze of your choice just before serving and grill for 2 min on each side.
  7. Serve drizzled with Balsamic Glaze of your choice.
  8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and top with coriander and sliced spring onions.
  9. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
